The Fire Service has reiterated the importance of working smoke alarms following a fire at breakfast time in the Waterside area of Derry this morning.
The occupants of a semi-detached bungalow in Rossdale in Kilfennan were alerted by a smoke alarm to a fire underneath the floor of the building shortly before 7.15am.
Firefighters used a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear smoke from the property and removed floor boards to deal with the incident.
No one was injured.
