Pupils at St Joseph’s Boys School, Creggan, Derry today got a lesson how the impact of a person making the wrong decision can end in tragedy.
Representatives of the three emergency services – Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service, Northern Ireland Ambulance Service and the PSNI – visited the Westway school to underline the potential consequences of bad driving.
Pupils were given a graphic demonstration of the techniques used at crash scenes and heard from Road Policing, ambulance service and fire service personnel of their experiences.
A PSNI spokesperson said: “As one of our photographs shows, a journey may start in one mode of transport, but its conclusion could easily be in a totally different kind.”
