Pet owners in Derry are being warned to be on alert following an attempt to steal a dog in the city at lunchtime today.
The incident occurred in the Montgomery Close area of the Waterside at around 1.30pm when the owner went to get their German Shepherd from the back garden and he was not there.
The owner then went looking for the dog and spotted a man trying to put him the back of a red van.
Thankfully, the man let the dog go and drove off.
