Translink is to base a number of new buses in Derry.
A total of 37 new buses have been purchased as part of a £5million investment in the company’s fleet.
The buses, which include 10 new Metro single decks buses and 27 Metro/Ulsterbus midi-buses, will replace all Lisburn City Services and Coleraine town services.
The remainder will be based across Northern Ireland including Derry, Newtownabbey and Larne.
David Strahan, Translink Group Chief Executive said the new buses were “great news” for customers and demonstrated the company’s commitment towards delivering a quality public transport system for everyone.
He added: “We are also very pleased to be playing our part in helping to improve local air quality and providing a healthier environment across our local towns and cities.”
