Thousands packed into Derry city centre this evening for the switch on of the city’s Christmas illuminations.
It was shoulder-to-shoulder as one of the biggest ever crowds spread across Waterloo Place and Guildhall Square to catch a glimpse of Santa Claus who flew in from the North Pole to perform the switch on.
At least one person had to received medical treatment after collapsing.
