Peter Hutton has added two new players to his Derry City squad for the 2015 season following the signing Cork City forward Cillian Morrison and Finn Harps goalkeeper Shaun Patton.
Morrison (23) returns to Derry after spells at UCD and Cork City.
He was part of Martin Russell’s UCD squad in 2010 but didn’t make a league appearance that year.
On the opening day of the 2011 season, he marked his league debut by scoring the winning goal in a 1-0 win away to Drogheda United.
He went on to make five league appearances through the season, scoring twice.
In the 2012 season, he scored once in nine games as UCD finished eighth in the league.
After re-signing with UCD for the 2013 season, he went on to score four goals in 14 appearances.
The Letterkenny man played for the Derry under-21 side before moving on to the students ahead of joining Cork in June this year.
Patton (19), also from Letterkenny, showed promise in the Ulster Senior League with Bonagee that earned him a move to Finn Harps.
He was part of the Donegal 95 squad that won the Foyle Cup in 2011 and in the summer of that year he signed for Finn harps’ under-19 side.
He made the bench for the senior side twice during Harps’ 2011 First Division campaign and was part of Peter Hutton’s first team squad in 2012.
He made his league debut for the club on 31 March 2012, coming on as a 25th minute sub for the injured Ciaran Gallagher, and he started the following game against SD Galway.
He replaces Ciaran Gallagher who has gone back to Harps, his previous club.
Both Morrison and Patton haved sign one year deals with Derry.
