Police in Derry are investigating the report of a shooting incident in the Creggan area of the city last night.
Inspector Sam Shearer said it was reported to police that the front door of a house at Circular Road was damaged at around 10.00pm..
No-one was home at the time of the incident and there are no reports of any injuries.
Insp Shearer added: “Our enquiries into this incident are ongoing and I would ask anyone with any information to contact CID at Strand Road on 101.
“Information can also be passed anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
The incident has been condemned by SDLP MLA Pat Ramsey who said it was “clearyly very disturbing and upsetting” for the family.
He added:’ This is a disgrace, bringing fear and terror to another family and to our community.”
