Derry City striker Michael Duffy has done enough to impress Celtic manager Ronnie Delia to have another look at the talented player in the New Year.
Duffy, 20, spent a week on trial with the Scottish Champions and is said to have performed well throughout the week.
He was told by club management that they would be interested in taking him back over for a competitive trial game.
That game may be played before Christmas, but Duffy was told that more than likely he would be brought back over in the New Year.
Duffy trained with the club’s first-team for the week and watched the club’s development squad defeat Ranger 6-1 in a friendly match.
Duffy had a superb season for Derry City last season and scored sixteen goals for Peter Hutton’s side.
He has attracted a significant amount of cross-channel interest but Derry will be able to command a fee for Duffy as he contracted until 2016.
Duffy will be hoping he can follow in the footsteps of former Candystripe players Paddy McCourt and Niall McGinn in making the move from the Brandywell to Celtic Park.
