A DERRY dad of two is celebrating tonight – after his wife scooped a small fortune on a TV gameshow.
Paul Harkin, from Lettershandoney in Co Derry, was cheering in the audience as his accountant wife Fiona was counting the cash on RTE’s ‘Winning Streak’ show.
The couple live in Oranmore, Co Galway, and were joined on the show by friends and relatives from there and Derry.
Fiona won €33,000 and a luxury €5,000 holiday to Croatia in the earlier rounds of tonight’s show filmed at RTE studios in Dublin.
But her luck ran out when it came to the chance to spin the wheel for the potential to win a €1,000,000 fortune.
None of the chances for her to be in with a chance of going for that prize came up.
But they will be celebrating nonetheless, with €38,000 to help with the building of their new home in Galway.
