THIEVES have robbed wreaths from the grave of a grandad late to rest in the City Cemetery this week.
Heartbroken relations who went to visit the grave yesterday – two days after the funeral – were distraught to find the floral tributes had been nicked.
A wreath which had been placed on top of his coffin during the funeral and then placed on top of his grave after burial was taken.
“I cannot believe that someone would stoop so low and I just want the people of Derry to consider this when spending money buying flowers this Christmas,” said a family friend.
“There are a few burials on Friday and I would hate for another family to have to be subjected to this.”
