FORECASTERS have warned of “another remarkably windy night” for the North West.
With severe gales whipping up, damaging gusts could reach 70-80mph, says the Met Office.
And after last night’s storm weakened infrastructure, trees and branches – potentially more damage and disruption is to come.
Across the border in Donegal the head of the Garda Traffic Corps has warned motorists not to travel unless absolutely necessary.
It’ll stay very windy tomorrow and blustery downpours will plague north Ulster, many falling as snow as temperatures drop to 2C.
“There’ll be rain with sleet and snow across the higher ground and with the strong winds blowing snow and blizzard like conditions across high routes/roads of the north,” said the Met Office.
“It’ll feel colder everywhere especially where it’s windy and wintry.”
It follows an incredibly mild day today – despite the wind and rain.
Temperatures in Derry reached 13C today; it was 16C in Co Carlow.
The Met Office has issued a double Yellow Warning for wind and snow/ice on Saturday, with a Yellow Warning for snow and ice on Sunday.
