FORECASTERS have issued a 3-day weather warning for Derry.
After a bitterly cold night, there is a warning for ice and frost across the North West today with temperatures struggling to just 1C or 2C today.
It will be very cold again tonight before a snow warning kicks in for Monday.
“A band of rain, sleet and snow will arrive into western parts of Northern Ireland during Monday evening, then spread east across all parts overnight,” says the Met Office.
“At low levels there is likely to be a mixture of rain and snow, but accumulations of snow of around 2 cm are possible locally.
“Over higher ground, above 150 metres, there is a risk of up to 5 cm. As clearer weather follows from the west later in the night, temperatures will fall, leading to a risk of icy stretches.
“The public should be aware of the risk of difficult driving conditions and travel disruption.”
More snow and ice on Tuesday is forecast.
