FORMER Derry City striker David McDaid has been suspended for six matches after being found guilty of head-butting a player during a game.
The Cliftonville star was sent off for the Irish Cup game clash with Ards Rangers midfielder Steven Hislop. The Belfast side won the game 6-0.
He was automatically ruled out of the County Antrim Shield final and has now been handed a further six-game ban.
The ban is a blow to Cliftonville’s bid for the Irish League.
One of the matches McDaid must sit out will be the Irish Cup sixth round game at home to Ballymena on 7 February.
