Former Derry City and Dundalk star Ruaidhri Higgins has joined Coleraine while Rory Patterson also looks set to re-join the Bannsiders after leaving The Brandywell a fortnight ago.
Higgins has signed a two-year contract with Oran Kearney’s side after deciding to leave League of Ireland champions Dundalk.
Higgins wasn’t a regular in Stephen Kenny’s side and although Dundalk were keen to retain the talented midfielder he opted to join the Irish League.
Higgins has been offered a lucrative contract and is likely to feature for Coleraine this weekend against Dungannon Swifts if his paperwork is completed in time.
Patterson has been linked to several clubs since his departure from Derry City earlier this month.
The talented marksman was linked with a return to Linfield but it’s now looking likely he’ll return to The Showgrounds were he enjoyed one of his most successful spells.
Patterson once scored over forty goals for the Bannsiders in one season.
That resulted in him famously signing for Glentoran on a pre-contract agreement, however he never actually played a game for the Glens and was sold to Plymouth Argyle.
