Sinn Féin Education spokesperson Councillor Patricia Logue has said that the newly announced £5.4m capital investment in IT will benefit schools in the years ahead.
Councillor Patricia Logue told Derry Daily, “As technology advances at an alarming pace it is important that teachers are kept apace with the latest gadgets that add value to their ability to educate our children.
“This capital investment of £5.4 million will provide teachers with the latest up to date laptops which will assist in the education of our children.
“The laptops will allow teachers to access the C2K Education Cloud that holds information needed to allow teachers to do a better job in a modern environment.
“I have no doubt that this investment will show improved results in our school system in the months and years ahead.
