Award-winning artist Chien-Wei Chang is to deliver a lecture at the North West Regional College on Thursday evening.
The acclaimed artist and Jerwood Contemporary Makers Prize winner 2010, will present an analysis of his work and career path and offer his realistic insights into how a contemporary maker can survive financially while retaining artistic integrity.
In the last 7 years, Chien-Wei’s works have been exhibited in the Saatchie Gallery (London), V&A (London), Galerie Sofie Lachaert, (Belgium), SOFA New York, Montan Gallery (Copenhagen), Galerie Ra (Amsterdam), Goldsmiths’ Hall (London) and many others.
He is a tutor at the London Metropolitan Museum and guest lecturer at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts and Manchester Metropolitan University.
Chien-Wei began as a silversmith but his recent work includes celebrated exhibitions in bamboo and also glass.
