SECURITY ALERT IN CO DERRY

A security alert is ongoing this evening in Co Derry.

It follows the discovery of a suspicious object in the Tobermore Road area of Desertmartin shortly after 3pm.

Army Technical Officers are currently at the scene examining the object.

A number of diversions are in place and police have advised motorists to seek alternative routes.
