Police advise the public to keep their doors locked at all times

POLICE are advising the public to make sure they keep their windows and doors locked at all times.

It follows reports last night to the PSNI from members of the public that they heard their door handles moving.

A spokesperson said: “This could have been opportunistic thieves looking for an open door to enter.

“Around 50 per cent of all burglaries happen through open doors and windows!

“Please keep doors and windows closed and locked even when you are in the house.

“Ensure doors and windows are locked before you go out or go to bed.

“It only takes a minute to check and could prevent a burglary at your home!”
