MOTORISTS left skidding on many North West roads today after overnight snow and ice had better get used to it – we’re going to be getting snow and ice conditions for another five days.
Met Office forecasters have issued a new Yellow Alert weather warning for the whole of the North.
Transport NI says gritting lorries are working across the North West this morning; however motorists say conditions overnight were frightening.
Some motorists in Derry City and in parts of County Derry had to abandon their vehicles due to the conditions, with black ice and snow in many areas.
Met Office has issued warnings right through until Wednesday, with forecasters saying the cold weather will continue after that.
Cold biting northerly winds will turn snow showers tomorrow and Tuesday into blizzards.
