Derry City recorded a comfortable win over Northern Ireland’s Junior International side last night at The Brandywell.
Goals from Cillian Morrison, Ryan Curran and Patrick McEleney ensured Peter Hutton’s side recorded another victory.
Derry defeated Coleraine at The Showgrounds on Friday night and their form during pre-season will encourage their supporters who have been worried about the lack of investment in the team.
Derry have lost influential players like Barry Molloy (Crusaders) Rory Patterson (Unattached) and Michael Duffy (Celtic FC) during the off-season.
They signed Cork City striker Cillian Morrison but that’s been there only marquee signing as Peter Hutton’s hands have been tied due to financial constraints at the club.
Derry did receive £125,000 for Michael Duffy from Celtic FC but Derry won’t be able to use that to sign players until the window re-opens again in June.
However, Morrison made an impressive start to his Derry career last night and looked lively when he was introduced as a substitute and took his goal expertly.
