TWO people have been injured in an attack Altnagelvin Hospital, police say.
Police were called to the A&E department of the hospital at about 5.40pm last night.
It followed reports a prisoner who was receiving treatment had assaulted prison and hospital staff.
The prison officer suffered a broken arm and a hospital staff member suffered a head injury.
Police said a 35-year-old man was charged with assault causing actual bodily harm, attempting to escape from legal custody, criminal damage, disorderly behaviour, gbh with intent, possession of an offensive weapon and making threats to kill.
He appeared in today and was remanded back into custody.
