The voting process has started for the 2015 UK Youth Parliament elections.
Beginning on Tuesday, young people (aged 11-18) have the opportunity to vote for their chosen candidate between now and February 27th.
There are three candidates running in the Foyle area; Sarah Gwynne, Thomas Chambers, and Chloe Hegarty.
The candidates have been campaigning hard, and on Monday Sarah Gwnne met representatives from the NWRC Students’ Union to discuss their joint plans for March 13th.
Speaking after the meeting, Sarah Gwynne said, “We as young people are the future, yet we have no say in how the government is using austerity cuts to save money and endanger our futures.
‘The older generation are making cuts on our behalf, are failing to consult the youth of Northern Ireland, and are out of touch with what really matters.
“March 13th is a chance for us to stand united and fight for our future, today!”
