Margaret McGlinchey of 1st/4th Derry (*St. Mary’s Creggan) Scout Group is pictured receiving Scouting Irelands highest honour for Volunteers from Former Provincial Commissioner Wendy Morrow.
Margaret was honoured for her dedication and commitment to Scouting in Derry over the past 40 years.
She was a founding member of St Mary’s Scout Group in Creggan during the height of the troubles and has been a stalwart since, giving up he time freely to provide the youth of the area with opportunities that they would probably not get a chance to otherwise.
All her Scouting and non scouting friends have wished Margaret all the best on receiving this prestigious and special award and wish her all the best in the future.
