POLICE have made a fresh appeal for witnesses to come forward following last weekend’s fatal road crash in Co Derry in which a 13-year-old girl died.
Georgia Doherty from Redcastle in Co Donegal was killed after two cars collided on the Glenshane Road in Drumahoe on Sunday.
Officers said a nurse or medical professional in a green uniform may have stopped at the scene to help.
The PSNI’s Collision Investigation Unit are also keen to hear from the occupants of a silver Peugeot with L plates which stopped in the city-bound lane shortly after the crash.
Anyone else who may have seen either of the vehicles involved – a white Vauxhall Insignia and navy Ford Focus with an 01 DL registration – in the minutes before the collision has been asked to come forward.
A PSNI statement said: “We appreciate all of the information we have received to date but we are making a fresh appeal to any witnesses who haven’t yet spoken to police to get in touch with us.
“Witnesses can contact investigators at the Collision Investigation Unit at Maydown police station by calling 101.”
