PSNI Traffic officers are urging motorists to drive with care this morning after temperatures fell overnight.
A cold westerly flow, originally sourced from Canada, has brought a mix of sleet, snow and hail showers to the North West.
Snow has fallen in many rural areas, accumulating more widely on higher ground.
Gritting lorries have been in action overnight in Derry City and on main routes across the county, particularly over the Glenshane Pass.
Problems should reduce steadily further into Monday morning, as the March sunshine gets to work on ice.
However further wintry showers can be expected later.
