COPS are jubilant after they stopped almost a quarter of a million pounds worth of drugs reaching street dealers.
The haul was accidentally uncovered after a car carrying £240k worth of drugs was involved in a crash with a police vehicle.
The incident happened yesterday evening, March 16, in Derry’s Victoria Round area at around 6.25 pm.
Police say neither the occupants of the drug car or police officers needed hospital treatment.
PSNI Detective Inspector Alan Pyper said: “Two men, aged 30 and 28, were both arrested on suspicion of possession of a class B controlled drug with intent to supply.
“This follows the find of approximately £240,000 worth of suspected cannabis in a car in the Victoria Road area of Derry.”
The suspects are currently being questioned in the custody suite at Strand Road police station.
