THE search for missing Gary Campbell is now centred on recovering his remains from the River Foyle.
The 31-year-old went missing from the Creggan area of the city in the early hours of Saturday morning.
It is understood police investigating his disappearance have recovered CCTV footage which shows Gary entering the water.
His heartbroken family have been informed of the development.
As a result of the new information, the PSNI drafted in its helicopter with heat seeking equipment to help in the search.
The Foyle Rescue Service and the Coastguard have also been involved in searching the water for Gary’s remains.
It is tragic news for the family after his brother Gavin yesterday issued an emotional appeal for Gary to come home.
“He’s a great brother and we go on well together. He’s very kind and considerate,” said Gavin Campbell.
“The last couple of days have been devastating. My mother said she hopes he comes through the door.
“If he’s out there, please come home.”
