DERRY City have suffered their second defeat in the opening four games of the SSE Airtricity League.
This evening they went down 2-0 to St Patrick’s at Richmond Park.
It follows a wonder 45-year strike from Greg Bolgar on 36 minutes after he caught City keeper Anthony Doherty off his line.
Then substitute Morgan Langley sealed for St Pat’s it with a close range header from a free kick on 82 minutes.
That means the Candystripes have won only one of their first four games.
Before the game, Derry City manager Peter Hutton was a facing a player availability headache going into tonight’s clash.
Three Candy Stripe players – defenders Ryan McBride, Dean Jarvis and Shaun Kelly – were extremely doubtful through injury.
The manager is also without Mark Timlin who is suspended.
And Stephen Dooley is still absent through injury as the Brandywell team head to Richmond Park for the 7.45 pm game.
Before lining out, Peter Hutton said: “It is going to be a difficult game for us.”
And it proved to be.
Derry are now seventh in the league with just five points from four games – eight points of the leaders.
Dundalk have gone top of the league tonight with a 3-0 win over Bohemians.
