A DERRY man is hoping to launch a night of peace in the skies above the city – releasing thousands of Chinese lanterns.
Following the burning of The Temple as part of the healing in our community, Kevin McGowan is hoping to get everyone in the city involved in his idea.
“It’s a proposal for all the folk of Derry to come together for one night to release our differences into the night air on both sides of the river,” said Kevin.
“This should be an annual thing. It could even be used as a fundraising event for Foyle search and rescue for their tireless efforts.
“If done right this could be seen across the world. A positive movement by the people of Derry once more. And the peace process continues.”
Kevin wants anyone in favour of letting go of your worries in the form of a Chinese lantern alongside thousands of other same thinking people, please like and share this and see if we can get it arranged.
“I’m thinking about doing this on June 1 at around 10pm.”
