POLICE in Strabane are seeking helping in identifying thugs who threw petrol bombs at fire crews yesterday.
At least two petrol bombs had been thrown at a car parked outside a house on the Dublin Road shortly before 5am, causing damage to the car and the house.
Fire crews called to tackle the blaze were then also attacked – with petrol bombs aimed at the officers and their vehicles.
Police say it was a miracle no-one was seriously injured.
Detective Inspector David McQuade is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information to contact CID in Strabane on the non-emergency number 101.
Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
