POLICE have put on display a stash of booze seized from under 18s at a Co Derry seaside resort on Easter Monday.
Officers stepped up patrols as Easter Monday in Portstewart is an annual away-day booze fest for teenagers from out of town.
Patrols in nearby Portrush also confiscated alcohol from kids.
A spokesperson for the PSNI’s North Coast Team said on Facebook: “Too much alcohol impairs judgement and is risky for young people who mightn’t know their limits.
“The young people didn’t realise it at the time, but police seizing the drink probably saved them from alot of bother.
“Please also remember it’s an offence to buy drink for under 18s.
“And police will seize drink all summer long if we need to.”
