POLICE are appealing for information about what is believed to have been a sectarian incident in the Waterside area of Derry.
The PSNI has just released details of an incident on Wednesday when a teenager was walking at Bond Street.
Police say he was chased by a group of about 16 youths onto the Ebrington site.
“Sectarian remarks were shouted at him,” said a PSNI spokesman.
We understand the Catholic teenager who was chased from the area had a number of sectarian remarks chanted at him.
Threats were also made towards him; he managed to escape across the peace bridge unharmed.
Anyone who saw the incident is asked to contact Constable McClay, the investigating officer on the 101 non-emergency number.
