BREAKING NEWS: A man in his 20’s has been killed following a horrific house fire in Derry earlier today. Firefighters desperately attempted to get the blaze under control and save the occupant from the burning house at De Burgh Square.
Despite their valiant efforts the young man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead shortly after he was removed from the house.
The fire broke out at around 11am but the cause of the fire is not yet known as of yet.
Local SDLP MP Mark Durkan expressed his shock and sadness at the tragedy.
Durkan Said, “My initial thoughts are for the bereaved family of this young man to whom I send my deepest sympathies and sincere condolences at this very distressing time.
“It’s a terrible tragedy for someone so young to have died in these circumstances.
