DETECTIVES investigating an explosion at the Probation Service’s offices at Crawford Square in Derry on Monday have released CCTV footage.

It shows the dramatic moment the device exploded shortly before 11pm.

Miraculously no one was injured during the attack when the device exploded while police were still evacuating homes in the area.

Detective Chief Inspector James Mullen, who is leading the enquiry, said the footage was being released as part of a renewed appeal for information.

“We remain keen to hear from anyone who was in the Crawford Square area from 10pm onwards on Monday who saw the device being left, or saw suspicious individuals or activity in the area.”

Information can be given on the police non-emergency number, 101, or by calling the Crimestoppers Charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
