ALL eyes around the world were on Las Vegas in the early hours of this morning when Floyd Mayweathter went toe-to-toe with Manny Pacquiao big money fight.

But in the words of boxing fan Martin McGuinness: “Best boxing contest of the last 12 hours wasn’t in Vegas, it was in @laveygac !! @KingKane11 agus Doire Abú!!

Eamonn O’Kane retained retained his IBF Inter-Continental title against the unbeaten Lewis Taylor at Lavey’s GAC in Maghera.

And he tweeted back to the deputy first minister: “Thanks for the support Martin. I was delighted you could make it.”

It was a closely fought contest between the Banagher fighter in front of his home crowd and his English opponent

He received a massive response from the 2,000 people packed into Lavey’s.

But in the end ‘King Kane’ edged the gruelling contest on points.

The judges scored the fight 114-114, 116-112, 115-113 in favour of the 33-year-old.

O’Kane is now aiming for a shot at the world-title.

He hopes his points win over Lewis will now make him the mandatory challenger for the world title.
