FIRE crews dealt with an accidental fire at a Derry hotel yesterday afternoon.
It broke out at the Waterfoot Hotel off the Caw Roundabout.
During the alert, the building was evacuated while the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene.
A hotel spokesman said the fire broke out in a tumble drier at around 2.15 pm.
He added: “When the fire alarm went off, all fire doors were closed and a 999 call was made.
“The evacuation went exactly to plan and within 10 minutes all staff and guests were safely out of the building.
“The evacuation lasted for around 30 minutes as the Fire Service dealt with the incident.
“No one was injured and there was no major damage, only to the drier.”
