A MAN is in custody after a woman was stabbed several times in the stomach in Derry.
The victim, who is aged in her 30s, was attacked on the Creggan Road in early hours of this morning.
Police said the woman was taken to Altnagelvin hospital.
Said a spokesperson: “She has received for treatment for a number of stab wounds to her abdomen and bruising to her face.”
They added that her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
A 36-year-old man has been arrested and taken to Strand Road police station for questioning.
Detectives have appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident or may have any information to contact them on the 101 non-emergency number.
