Probe launched after policewoman accidentally shoots herself in the leg at Strand Road PSNI station
THE PSNI has launched an internal investigation after a policewoman in Derry shot herself in the leg this morning.
The incident happened at Strand Road police station around 8 am.
Police say that she has been taken to hospital “following the accidental discharge of a firearm at Strand Road police station”.
Her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
The investigation into the shooting incident is to be conducted by the PSNI’s Service Improvement Department (SID).
