A section of the passionate Derry City support have called on the board to remove Peter Hutton from his position as first-team manager at The Brandywell.
Derry City exited the EA Sports Cup competition last night by a Shamrock Rovers side that made TEN changes from the team that defeated Longford Town on Friday night.
With home advantage and a cup semi-final up for grabs Derry City fans were hopeful a win would kick-start their season.
However, a goal from Sean O’Connor decided the tie and Derry’s response to the concession of the goal was tame and lacklustre.
A section of the fans vented their anger and frustrations on the supporters forum ‘DERRY CITY CHAT’.
Derry City fan Daniel posted, “We really are a joke! I genuinely fear for our Premier Division safety under Pizza.
“His legend status from on the pitch for me is also starting to wear thin.
“Where do we go from here god knows, but the board need to act fast, the crowd was appalling, and it won’t improve if performances don’t, and I think it’s clear under Pizza they won’t.
Another fan called Morto said, “It’s time Pizza. A solid year in charge – and we’re worse off now than last season.
“Success is measured in progress and we’re clearly moving backwards.
Derry_Bhoy17 posted, “Pizza – Out of his depth, no tactical nouse, and let’s not forget he nearly got Finn Harps relegated from Div1 and look at them now.
Hate to say it but its time to go!! 🙁
Derry City face Sligo Rovers at The Brandywell on Friday and anything but a win could spell the end for Peter Hutton.
