Foyle MP Mark Durkan has condemned those responsible for vandalism and thefts at the Ráth Mór Business Park in Derry this week and threatening Creggan Enterprises Development Executive Conal McFeely.
Mr Durkan said: “It is deplorable that a community entrepreneur could be subjected to the threat, abuse and menace which Conal McFeely experienced.
“He was attacked for showing a due regard for valued workspace, community amenity and the better interests of the very people doing the damage.
“Nothing can justify vandalism which was purely criminal in its nature.
“Those responsible need to realise it is their own local businesses and community they are damaging.
“Those who know them need to make them realise that they are also damaging themselves by falling into such behaviour.
“The police, political representatives, community groups and local parents all have roles to play in ensuring that young people learn to respect their community and the fabric of their neighbourhood.”
