MOTORISTS have been again urged to watch their speed after a restricted driver was stopped for doing almost 30 mph above their limit.
The PSNI officers from Maydown Policing Unit clocked a Renault Clio car doing 74 mph.
Under the Road Traffic (NI) Order, ‘R’ drivers are restricted to 45 mph for the first 12 months after passing their test.
And that includes motorways where this driver was nabbed.
A police spokesman said: “The bigger the speed, the bigger the mess. Everyone should slow down on the roads.
“It is better to be a couple of minutes late home rather getting a trip to the mortuary.”
