DETECTIVES are investigating after a 27-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment to a serious head wound following a serious assault in Co Derry.
Police say that shortly after 10 pm last night officers responded to a report of a fight between a group of people on the Castlerock Road in Coleraine.
A 27-year-old man was taken to the Causeway Hospital for treatment as a result of the incident.
Detective Sergeant Brennan is appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident or may have any information which they believe may assist with the investigation to contact Detectives at Coleraine Police Station on the non-emergency number 101 or alternatively contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111
