SDLP MLA Colum Eastwood says over 7,000 people on orthopaedic waiting list
SDLP MLA Colum Eastwood is outraged at the large numbers of people waiting to see an orthopaedic specialist.
He has revealed that more than 7,000 people are waiting more than 15 weeks to see an orthopaedic specialist.
And the figures also reveal that some patients have not had an appointment for up to a year.
The figures were given in an Assembly answer to the Foyle MLA.
Said Mr Eastwood: “The targets for last year that the minister and the health board set was 15 weeks.
“And that target has been nowhere near met.”
