From first picking up a hurley and being taught by his older brother and father to being part of a team reaching the county’s first Christy Ring Cup final, Derry hurler Conor McSorley reflected on his life in the sport following a big win for the county yesterday.
Derry beat Down 0-23 to 2-12 to set up a final against Kerry next Saturday, and McSorley was clearly in reflective mood following the victory. The hurler took to Facebook to post this about his memories of the game, playing alongside his childhood friends and what it’ll be like to play at Croke Park next week.
All roads have led to this point for the hurler’s career and he gives a sense of how special a moment it is….his Facebook post has now gone viral.
And no wonder…
