A WOMAN from Derry has tragically lost her life this morning in a Co Donegal car accident.
The woman, who was in her 20s, died when her car was in collision with a lorry on the N13 close to the Kia Garage at Drumkeen.
The woman’s name has not yet been released until all her relatives have been contacted.
However, it is now understood that she is originally from Derry but had been living in Donegal.
Her remains were later removed by private ambulance to Letterkenny Hospital.
Gardai have launchd a full investigation into the possible cause of the crash.
Diversions from Ballybofey to Letterkenny are in place while Garda collision investigators carry out their inquiries.
Gardai have appealed to people to slow down and to take extra care this weekend.
Although not connected with the Joule Donegal International Rally, thousands of people will be flooding into the county in the next day or so.
Gardai are appealing to witnesses to the crash but say they hope to have the road opened as soon as possible.
