ALERT: Derry City and Strabane District Council has advised motorists to avoid where possible the Foyle Road and Ann Street areas of the Brandywell because of localised flooding this evening.
The Council is working closely with the relevant statutory agencies to deal with the situation which was caused by heavy down pours of rain this evening.
It followed warnings earlier across eight counties in the west and midlands earlier
Torrential downpours have hit the city.
It has sent a torrent of water cascading down several roads with some roads in rural areas also affected.
