FORMER Derry City player Paul Hegarty is back at the Brandywell club as assistant to manager Peter Hutton.
It is the Donegal man’s second spell as second in charge at the Candy Stripes having acted as assistant to Declan Devine a decade ago.
His appointment follows the departure of first team coach Martin McCann.
The 48-year-old – who played 200 games for Derry City – has previously been manager at Institute.
After leaving Derry City in 2006, he went on to manage Finn Harps for the next three years.
In 2012, the Lifford man came back for a spell at Derry as assistant manager.
