TWO-WAY TRAFFIC RETURNS TO BISHOP STREET

The fire which gutted Poundstretcher in Bishop Street

BISHOP Street has returned to normal after the fire last week at Poundstretcher.

The road had been reduced to one lane as structural engineers examined the building over safety concerns to passing pedestrians and motorists.

However, yesterday afternoon the road was re-opened to two lanes of traffic.

The extensive fire has put 50 jobs on the line but Poundstretcher is hoping to relocate in an effort to save the posts.
