A MAJOR security operation is ongoing just days after a deadly pipe bomb was found in a Strabane cemetery.
The PSNI say the operation was in place in Melvin Road in the area of the Ballycolman estate late on Tuesday night.
Army Technical Officers are at the scene examining a suspicious object.
Police have apologised for any inconvenience caused during the clearance operation.

After 48 hours, the area was declared safe after a deadly mortar bomb device was uncovered in the cemetery.
The target of the attack was a passing police patrol.
Residents were furious after elderly people in their 80s had to be evacuated from their homes.
