DETECTIVES investigating the tragic death of GAA player Conall Kerrigan in Derry last month want to speak to these two men over his stolen wallet.
The 23-year-old John Mitchel’s Claudy player died on Sunday, August 23 while on a night out with club pals.
However, he got separated from his team mates after leaving the Metro bar.
Conall was last seen on the walls of the city at around 3:03 am.
His team mates returned the following to search for him and his cousin found Conall at the bottom of a wall.
Now after trawling through hours of CCTV footage, detectives wish to speak to the two pictured men in relation to a robbery that happened on the same night at around 2:43 am at Bank Place leading to Foyle Street.
Senior Investigation Officer Detective Inspector Conor McStravick said: “At this stage we do not believe that Conall’s death was as a result of a crime.
“However, we believe that his wallet was stolen from him sometime before his death.”
“No wallet was found in his possession when his body was discovered, but after extensive searches, it was recovered by police.
“I would like to speak to the two men pictured who may have information about the robbery or the movements of Conall Kerrigan in the early hours of Sunday, August 23.
“The men, or anyone who knows them, are asked to contact detectives at Strand Road police station on the non emergency number 101.”
